18th June 2008 (Issue #17) "Moving on to the football (isn't it great being a sports fan?), Euro 2008 kicks off this weekend and I will go for a little treble over the weekend to keep us all occupied and in front of the TV. On Saturday, the 9/5 about the Czech Republic to beat Switzerland is too good to miss as they always seem to perform above expectations at these tournaments despite sometimes struggling in qualifying. The Swiss are not that good to put it politely and I will be surprised if we do not land our first bet and what a price? To boost our winnings, Portugal ought to start off with victory against Turkey though I suspect Ronaldo will get a bit of a battering and the goals will come from or because of free kicks, while for the treble, Sunday looks best left to Croatia who are well organised and should have too many guns for Austria, though again the price is not so impressive."
BET: FOOTBALL: EURO 2008: Czech Republic/Portugal/Croatia Win Treble: WIN @ 12.09/1
18th July 2008 (Issue #23) "Anyone looking for an outsider with a chance could do a lot worse than Jargelle who is freely available at 20/1, is very much on an upward curve with more room for improvement than some of her rivals here and represents the bang in form Willie Haggas yard, and if she breaks smartly and can get to the front early enough she could take an awful lot of pulling back."
BET: RACING: Jargelle to win Wetherbys Sprint (3.15 Newbury, July 19th 2008): WIN @ 20/1
6th March 2009 (Issue #54) "In the big betting race of the weekend at 3.10 p.m., Numide is currently the surprise favourite as he was expected to go to the Festival instead, but will still struggle to see off DAVES DREAM in my not very humble opinion. My selection was unbeaten until stepped up in trip at Ascot when the heavy going also sapped his questionable stamina but this fast run two miles with Sandown's notorious stiff uphill finish on good to soft ground could be just what the doctor ordered However, I admit to being a little concerned about the form of the Henderson yard of late this six year old could well get back on the winning trial and is currently trading at a very tempting 20/1 so I am very hopeful he comes here instead of his Cheltenham engagements." BET: RACING: Dave's Dream to win the 3.10 p.m. at Sandown (Saturday 7th March 2009): WIN @ 12/1
29th May 2009 (Issue #66) "Well the racing circus moves on again this weekend, which for me is a large part of the wonder of the sport, and the Northern venues get more than their fair share of the action this weekend starting off at Haydock. Those boring bookmakers have failed to price up anything at all this weekend despite some quality contests, though surely the most intriguing runner has to be the Luca Cumani trained IALYSOS who runs for the first time in the UK in the Listed sprint at 2.05 p.m., but how good he is, well that's anybody's guess after seven victories in Greece (Crete I think) at the brilliantly named Markopoulou racecourse. Now Luca is nobody's fool so I would be surprised if he is being pitched in at this level if he doesn't think he is good enough and being totally unknown to the British punter he could be worth a small each way bet at a decent price." BET: RACING: RACING: Ialysos each-way in the 2.05 p.m. at Haydock, Saturday 30th May: WIN @ 14/1
